The Ongoing Adventures of Three Cosplayers in Christchurch, otherwise known as Two Mods and a Japanese Girl, sometimes known as What We Do When We're Bored.

Just ordered a sample pack of silks from Dharma Trading - I'm excited! I'm thinking silk habotai will be best for my Nouhime costume, but I want to check the sheerness (word? Is it one?) of the fabric - I'd be pretty annoyed if it turned out to be see through. So yeah - there will be a whole lot of silk painting in my future! And I mean a LOT.

Also, HURRAH! Bill is being pitched at on my behalf! I've offered up a few copies of the book once it's all done and dusted as prizes for the comp. If they're accepted, hooray publicity, but I may not be able to enter the contest. Which will be kinda lame, but hey...I'm sure I'll survive! And it won't stop me making costumes, hurr.

Also - I'm sick of my site layout. There will be redesigning in the near future. But it may have to wait: I realised last night I will be effectively bankrupt on the first of december - I can't get extra hours at work, and studylink will no longer be giving me money. The job applying process is still chugging along, I need to call WINZ today and sort out what I can do for now. I'm hoping the fact I'm actually employed (even if not enough to be of any practical use) and my flashy design oriented CV will count in my favour, although I've never actually had to deal with WINZ personally before. Nervousness - I haz more than I need. And also a bruised ego, but that's kind of a usual thing :P

Making some A6-sized marker-coloured card illustrations for sale to earn some extra cash for the Japan trip. Not sure on the price yet, but might make them between $8-10US depending on how they look. Just finished inking them all so I will colour them tonight. Video-game based, so they are:

A fan blog has posted about an interview that Jump SQ had with Hoshino, which TitaniumChloride has translated.

There was also an interview with Hoshino during this issue and according to a fan's blog, it mentioned that Hoshino's lower back had been hurting since autumn last year. She's still undergoing treatment even now so it's been that for every 2 hours of work, she needs 1 hour of rest. Her sickness is something like a hernia of intervertebral disk. Once, it hurt so much that she couldn't lift a finger.

There were a few other things mentioned as well and I don't really get it all but I do get that she's thinking of her readers. She ended the interview apologizing to those who've felt confusion because of the magazine change and thanks those who are reading on and that she'll keep working hard.

This could be the reason why Hoshino went on a hiatus this past year.
